Management Suite Modules
Material Handling
With the Material Handling module, businesses can control costs and streamline handling of materials.
Material Handling is designed for producers of asphalt, quarry products, and similar materials. Contractors may account for materials as follows:
- Materials produced by company-owned plants or purchased from vendors
- Materials delivered by company trucks, customer trucks, or outside haulers
- Materials used on internal jobs or delivered to customers
This module is fully integrated with General Ledger and Accounts Receivable, providing control over production and hauling costs to maximize profits.
Using Material Handling, you’ll appreciate these benefits:
- Track an unlimited number of company-owned and vendor-owned plants/ quarries, trucks and drivers.
- Each item of material is assigned an ID, category, description, unit of measure, unit cost, unit list price, and various taxation/royalty indicators. Composite items include a mix formula of component items for accurate costing and tracking of raw material inventories.
- For increased efficiency, haul charges may be computed automatically based on established rates or entered manually per load.
- Materials produced and consumed in-house automatically update Job Costing and material usage records. For materials sold to customers, invoices are printed (consolidating tickets by date, customer, or PO number as desired); Accounts Receivable and material usage records are updated.
- All Material Handling data is ODBC compatible, allowing the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) or any other ODBC-compliant product to produce custom reports, analyses, graphs, or other documents.
- A “price class” table saves time by automating special customer pricing for designated items based on bids for specific projects, contracts, municipal work, volume purchases, and more.
- The remote entry module captures sales ticket data at remote plants for transmission to headquarters for billing and analysis. Material Ticket Processing allows remote entry of material tickets with the ability to export to the main system for invoice processing.
- Delivery tickets from outside producers may be entered at job sites, automatically updating “committed cost” for the job and creating purchasing records for reconciliation of subsequent vendor material invoices.
- Material Handling helps contractors stay in compliance. Special tonnage codes and reports accommodate the reporting requirements of various jurisdictions for permit, license, and tax purposes.
- Sales and other tax calculations are performed automatically and update comprehensive sales/use tax reports by jurisdiction. Management reports include a wide variety of raw material usage and material sales recaps.
- Gather customized information without the need for custom programming. Twenty user-defined fields allow users to track additional information for each customer, including permit numbers, type of work normally performed, field superintendent names, and more.
Reports include:
- Liquid Binder Report
- Material by Job & Plant Reports
- Monthly Recap Report
- Monthly Tonnage Report
- Raw Material Usage Report
