Earthwork Digital Takeoff
Maxwell Systems ProContractorMX offers digital takeoff technology that is tailored to the needs of sitework contractors, allowing users to perform a takeoff quickly and accurately right on a monitor and never touch a set of bulky, expensive blueprints.
Generate accurate cut and fill quantities straight from digital site plans. Simply download digital plan files from an online plan room, scan in your plans, or upload them from a CD-ROM, in many common types including PDF, TIF, GIF, JPG, BMP, and CAD formats.
Once your digital plans are imported, just use your computer mouse or touch screen monitor pen to easily perform a digital takeoff of any special construction area, like a building pad, retention pond, or parking island.
Efficiently takeoff existing contours, proposed contours, spot elevations, and any sitework elements; calculate grade; and quickly identify borings, substrata, swell, and yield. Plus you can raise or lower the elevations and strip or replace topsoil as needed to balance your cut and fill for important savings. For further time-savings, use the solution’s Layout feature to electronically stake elevation points for fine grade or rough grade staking and layout.
If you have CAD files or data from field instruments like a laser total station or GPS, you can skip the takeoff tracing step altogether and import your takeoff data directly into ProContractorMX. Features like AutoTrace streamline the process by doing the work for you, so you don’t need to spend time marking up plans by eye and hand. Plus, because the system is seamless, you can easily send data such as staking reports from these programs into your field instrument and take the device to the jobsite to perform your staking.
Using Digital Takeoff for Earthwork, you can:
- Avoid the inconvenience and cost of working with awkward, bulky paper plans.
- Easily takeoff elevations, calculate grade, and more.
- Import takeoff information directly from CAD files and automatically assign elevations and join contours to achieve the most accurate cut and fill measurements quickly.
- Know amount and types of materials that need to be moved for on-target takeoffs and bids.
- Verification tools, such as Section View and 3-D View, help eliminate costly errors and ensure accuracy of quantities.
- Manage entire lifecycle and all components of job electronically for best efficiency.
