Digital Takeoff
Maxwell Systems ProContractorMX offers digital takeoff technology – for structural elements and sitework cut-and-fill jobs – this takeoff software allows you to perform a takeoff directly on screen, quickly and accurately and never touch a set of bulky, expensive blueprints.
Easily download digital plan files from an online plan room, scan in your plans, or upload them from a CD-ROM, in many common types including PDF, TIF, GIF, JPG, BMP, and CAD formats.
Once your digital plans are imported, just use your computer mouse or touch screen monitor pen to select the appropriate item for takeoff and count up and measure in square foot or linear foot quantities.
For further time savings, this versatile program lets you flip, rotate, and copy structures, which saves you from having to retrace identical takeoffs. It also lets you customize your cost item libraries or choose from a built-in library of symbols.
And when there are plan revisions, the solution lets you instantly compare your new plans to the older ones. This capability allows you to capitalize on every change order to capture additional gains in profit margin.
Plus you can use the Sheet Import Manager feature to select which PDF Sheets you want to import and split apart the PDF layers for detailed, concise takeoffs. Save the time of hunting through unnecessary sheets.
In addition, the Shape Recognition feature in ProContractorMX allows estimators to further automate quantity counts using Digital Takeoff. This technology searches a set of plans and annotates like symbols and shapes for fast and accurate quantity counting. The Shape Recognition tool helps estimators eliminate time otherwise spent doing quantity counts by eye and marking by hand. The benefit is improved accuracy and time savings, not only when taking off original plans, but also when plans change.
For Earthwork too!
If you're a sitework contractor, ProContractorMX delivers the same digital takeoff advantages with features tailored for earthwork, so you can generate accurate cut and fill quantities straight from digital site plans in record time. Simply import digital plan files and easily perform a digital takeoff of any special construction area, like a building pad, retention pond, or parking island.
Efficiently takeoff existing contours, proposed contours, spot elevations, and any sitework elements; calculate grade; and quickly identify borings, substrata, swell, and yield. Plus you can raise or lower the elevations and strip or replace topsoil as needed to balance your cut and fill for important savings. For further time-savings, use the solution's Layout feature to electronically stake elevation points for fine grade or rough grade staking and layout.
If you have CAD files or data from field instruments like a laser total station or GPS, you can skip the takeoff tracing step altogether and import your takeoff data directly into ProContractorMX. Features like AutoTrace streamline the process by doing the work for you, so you don't need to spend time marking up plans by eye and hand. Plus, because the system is seamless, you can easily send data such as staking reports into your field instrument and take the field device to the jobsite to perform your staking.
For sitework contractors who get involved with underground utilities and highway work, we also offer three additional earth-measuring applications – Maxwell Systems Trenchwork, Roadwork, and Cross Sections. So whether working from plans drawn in profile view or cross section view, you can measure quantities easily and then send that data seamlessly to your estimating process.
Using ProContractorMX for digital takeoff, contractors are able to increase accuracy, save valuable time, and minimize the possibility of costly mistakes.
