Colonial Modules
Construction Management
With the Construction Management module, businesses have comprehensive job costing.
Construction Management performs the specific financial accounting and record-keeper functions of construction companies or real estate developers that need to track the costs of construction jobs. It includes Job Costing, Subcontract Control and Contract Control, and is fully integrated throughout Maxwell Systems Colonial.
Contractors can manage an unlimited number of jobs with Construction Management components. Contract Control makes it possible to track customer contracts and the corresponding change orders against jobs. And Subcontract Control gives contractors control over the progress and performance of subcontractors across all jobs. Construction Management gives contractors the tools for managing projects for maximum profit.
Using Construction Management, you’ll appreciate these benefits:
- Contract Control helps ensure that customers are not over-billed or under-billed. This Construction Management feature allows contractors to track customer contracts and the corresponding change orders against jobs.
- Subcontract Control helps ensure profitability by giving contractors tools to monitor the progress of a job and the performance of the subcontractors doing the work. At all times, you will know where projects stand with each subcontractor.
- When used with the AIA Requisitioning Component, Construction Management helps contractors stay compliant by reporting information required on AIA forms.
- Job-related expenses can be recorded through Accounts Payable for seamless and complete tracking of project costs. This eliminates the need of double entry into separate job spreadsheets, reducing time and the likelihood of error.
- Track original budget and multiple budget revisions by date. This feature gives project managers a better understanding of everything that has happened on a job.
- Customer change orders (approved, pending, not approved) allow the end user to understand the starting point of the original contract, current standings, and what may be likely to happen in the future.
- Construction Management tracks purchase orders as committed costs to activities. This provides contractors with a complete view of what has already been purchased and what remains outstanding.
- Construction Management provides calculated projections for each activity with manual override, providing real-time analysis of what the job will cost at completion.
- User-maintainable activity structure provides users with the ability to tailor the application to meet their specific requirements.
- Reporting is date-sensitive, allowing the user to run as/of reports based on a specified date.
- Job budgets can be imported from spreadsheets or estimating applications to streamline job creation.
Reports include:
- Projected Cost Reports
- Period Cost Reports (detailing all costs posted to a job)
- Work in Process Reports
- Job Trend Analysis Reports
- Contract Reports
